The Villas At The Villas Bali Hotel And Spa

During our honeymoon back in 2014, I’ve only had the chance to go to Seminyak in one occasion when we decided to spend the afternoon at Potato Head Beach Club. Instantly as our cab drove past the big luxury hotel chains and cute boutique shops, I knew this part of town is where all the posh and fancy people hangout. Not that I’m posh and fancy, but I’m very curious to see what else Seminyak has to offer. So when I finally decided to go this year, it was a no brainer. I had to stay Seminyak for a couple of days.

I was playing around the internet while doing my research for my upcoming trip when I decided to just type “The Villas” on the search bar. If you didn’t know yet, my last name is Villas, and being the dorky goof that I am, I thought, wouldn’t it be cool for The Villas to stay at The Villas? I giggled as I typed that, but truthfully, that is the inception of my magical memory in Seminyak.

Seminyak, like I’ve said, is quite the fancy side of Bali. Home to amazing day clubs that gives you a killer view of the sunset, restaurants rated so highly you know you have to prioritize it, and hotels so luxurious you wouldn’t want to leave, it’s no surprise that Seminyak attracts all kinds of tourists– the young, the older, and everyone in between.

The Villas Bali Hotel And Spa is perfectly located at the heart of it. Although it’s  few minutes away from the beach, the convenience of its strategic location is something that needs recognition. All kinds of restaurants are easily walkable in distance– Mexican, Indian, Western, Asian, or a traditional Balinese warung– they’re all a short distance away. Hip cafes and ice cream shops are all a stone’s throw away. Souvenir shops are right outside the hotel. The best bars and day clubs are a short Uber ride away. And guess what? You don’t even need to go very far for the best massages as they’re either inside the hotel or just a couple of steps away.

The Villas

The Villas consists of only villa style accommodations. It’s a concept that’s very popular in Bali and a very accountable reason as to why tourists are so drawn to the island. It’s a luxurious experience, and whether you’re there on a honeymoon or a family getaway, a villa experience makes it so easy to forget reality– a reason why we choose to go on a vacation in the first place. Not to mention that you’re in an island as exotic as Bali, it’s the complete package.

We had a 1-bedroom villa booked which is perfect for couples. They also have 2 and 3-bedroom villas, and also a 5-bedroom connecting villa for bigger groups. Ours was just impeccable. Entering our villa, we were greeted with lush plants that provided us a nice, chill breeze everything the wind blew. The big private pool quickly grabbed my attention as this is one of the biggest private pools I’ve encountered. It has its signature Yin-Yang design that adds a bit of touch with the theme of the villa.

Speaking of themes, I really enjoyed the concept of The Villas. Although the architecture is a bit more on the contemporary style, there are certain touches that gives it another dimension. Other than the Buddhist facets such as the Yin-Yang pool and Buddha statue, there’s also a bit of a Mediterranean vibe that is very apparent within the villa. The creamy white-washed walls paired with wooden floors and touched up a bit with playful patterns was such a nice, fun touch up to the design. It was a bit of an abstract combination, but somehow, it all worked out so perfectly.

Our bedroom was just lovely– spacious, cozy, and incredibly romantic as well, it was the kind of bedroom that makes you not want to leave your bed in the morning. Complete with a television plus a nice little nook for reading, I’d admit I had a couple of instances where I was a bit torn where I wanted to hang out and rest– outside by the pool, or inside at the comfort of an air-conditioned room. One of the things that I absolutely am critical about in any accommodations I stay at is the mirror. Full body mirror. It’s an essential detail that I look for, that sadly, many hotels do not provide. You can imagine my satisfaction when I walked in and saw a huge full body mirror. Now that deserves recognition.

The bathroom was kept on the contemporary style, bringing along with it its modern comforts. Every touch is reminiscent of luxury and comfort. The shower head, the toilet, down to the toiletries– they were all high quality pieces. And you know what’s so cool bout their bathroom? It’s complete with air-conditioning. If that doesn’t speak of luxurious comfort, I don’t know what will.

Our villa provided many of the comforts we could ask for. The wifi was fast and I never once had a problem with the speed. They provided us unlimited water, a variety of fresh fruit, and the kitchen was complete with all the tools we needed and more. It was just nice to have everything so well-thought of without having to dial housekeeping. Before we can even think to ask, it was already there in our private villa.

Did I also mention that our villa came with a cozy loft?

The Service

No hotel experience ends up being completely amazing without excellent service. The Villas does not fall short in this category, as they made sure we were taken care of and that our needs are attended to right away. Upon reaching the hotel, guards are friendly and reception is incredibly helpful. Housekeeping came by twice a day to make sure everything is in order. The room service also offers some pretty delectable choices.

As per usual private villa services, you get to have your breakfast served at the comfort of your own villa. Unfortunately, my schedule didn’t work well as we had early mornings ahead of us so we opted for boxed meals instead. Otherwise, the breakfast options caters to everyone– from traditional to continental, you can’t go wrong with their meals here. Another great thing about the hotel is their in-house restaurant and spa, Prana. You don’t need to go very far after all.

Chill Reflexology Spa

I had a massage almost every other day during this trip to Bali. But I will tell you right now that this is actually the best massage I’ve had. I’d probably go as far as putting it on my Top 3 Best Massages EVER. You see, I never really thought I was a reflexology kind of girl, but it was only because I never really had it this good. I’m used to very aggressive reflexology somehow when I tried it in Hong Kong and Taiwan, but this one was different. I wouldn’t say gentle, otherwise I would have hated it.

It was just….right. I had the 90-minute feet-focused reflexology treatment, while my husband had the back-focused one. I don’t think I’m eloquent enough to describe the bliss that I felt afterwards. That’s the thing about reflexology too, the entire experience isn’t always the greatest– but the feeling after it is the BEST. I don’t think I’ve ever felt as balanced as the way I did after my massage at Chill. It was as if weight was lifted off of my entire body.

Chill is a part of The Villas, although different from Prana, as this one focuses on reflexology massages. It’s only about 2-minute walk away from The Villas so it’s pretty convenient. Just make sure you book early because it’s quite in demand in the area. Trust me,  go for the 90-minute one. It might just make your entire vacation.

Although my time in The Villas was short and sweet, it was absolutely one of the best hotels I’ve stayed at. It wasn’t just the villa or the service itself that made my stay so incredible. It was the entire experience itself. I truly believe that’s what makes a hotel unforgettable. You can have the most comfortable bed or the most luxurious Egyptian cotton towels, but if the experience was ruined by loud noise at night or rude staff, it ruins the experience. The Villas Bali Hotel And Spa guarantees more than just comfort. It promises more than just luxury. It aims to give you an unforgettable memory.
